VNAA Offers Free Searchable Online Flu Clinic Resource

Washington, DC - November 20, 2010 - The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) offers the public an easy to remember, online influenza resource tool (www.INeedaFluShot.org). This find a flu clinic tool was created as a means to assist individuals find a location near them to obtain the influenza vaccine.

"Flu season is upon us and we want to be sure individuals know where they can go in their communities to get immunized against the flu," stated Andy Carter, VNAA President and CEO.

Nationwide, VNAA member agencies assist state and local health departments, community-based health clinics and corporations in delivering immunizations to prevent the onset of influenza, H1N1 and other diseases preventable by vaccination. This year, VNAA member agencies have added over 4,000 flu clinics in the online tool. With updated recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, which encourages all individuals at any age to get a flu shot, the time is right to educate the public about the continued need to be vaccinated.
