Continuing Education

VNAA and Continuing Education

The VNAA believes that education and quality are co-dependent domains, which influence clinical and administrative functions in homecare and hospice. We are committed to the promotion of life long learning and evidence-based practice to achieve performance excellence and superior outcomes. When education and quality are present, nonprofit home health and hospice agencies are sustainable with satisfied patients, superior patient outcomes and content professional workforce.

VNAA also recognizes that continuing and professional education is essential when working in an environment with continual technological change. Continuing education exists to improve the skills, knowledge and behavior that people apply in their daily lives and is essential to update and hone basic skills as well as learn new skills.

How it Works:

The VNAA provides professional continuing education to promote excellence in nursing. Any registered home health or hospice nurse can earn continuing education units (CEUs also known as CE Contact Hours) by participating in an evidence-based education program where CE Contact Hours are offered. After completing the program, participants are sent an evaluation or self-test as directed by accrediting bodies' requirements to prove mastery of new theories and skills. After completing the evaluation, participants receive a certificate of completion.
