NONPROFIT HOME HEALTHCARE AND HOSPICE LEADERS GATHER
AT VNAA 28TH ANNUAL MEETING IN ORLANDO APRIL 21-23, 2010
MEETING WILL FOCUS ON HEALTHCARE REFORM, HONORING LEADERS
IN THE INDUSTRY AND HOW TO THRIVE IN THE NEW ECONOMY
ORLANDO, FL - April 20, 2010 - The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) is holding its 28th Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla., at the Hilton at Walt Disney World Resort on April 21-23, 2010. Approximately, 200 leaders in home healthcare and hospice will be convening over the next three days to discuss the implications of the healthcare reform statute, OASIS-C transitions, improving clinical outcomes, managing chronic diseases, immunizations and developing ways to thrive in the new economy.
"VNAA has secured a solid base of attendees and exhibitors to attend this three-day premier gathering of nonprofit leaders in home healthcare hospice," said Andy Carter, President and CEO of VNAA. "We also have progressive educational tracks and opportunities and challenges in healthcare reform, key speakers bringing cutting-edge information techniques and best practices," Carter added.
Now that a healthcare reform statute has emerged from Washington, sorting out its implications is important and top of mind for VNAA attendees. This meeting allows VNAA members to gather to help form next steps in the implementation phase of healthcare reform and how the various provisions pertaining to the home healthcare and hospice industry should be shaped in order to protect and enhance care for all patients regardless of their condition, complexity of care or ability to pay.
In addition to exploring implications of healthcare reform, the VNAA will honor extraordinary achievements of top leaders and volunteers at its member agencies. The National Awards Luncheon will be held on April 22, celebrating the unique qualities and contributions of the individual leaders and staff working in nonprofit home healthcare and hospice.
