President and CEO
HCI Care Services and VNS of Iowa
Des Moines, Iowa
Norene Mostkoff is President and CEO of HCI Care Services (formerly Hospice of Central Iowa) and Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa (VNS of Iowa). The two non-profit organizations joined forces in January 2012 to provide compassionate and effective community-based care to thousands of children, families and older Iowans.
The partnership between HCI and VNS creates an opportunity to put more resources into services at a time when available funding is rapidly shrinking. Together the combined organization serves over 60,000 people annually, has revenues of $34 million, and employs over 500 people.
Prior to coming to Iowa, Mostkoff served as the chief operating officer at HospiceCare Inc. (now Agrace HospiceCare) in Madison, Wisconsin which provided end-of-life care to more than 500 patients each day. Mostkoff has more than 25 years of experience in non-profit management. Prior to working in the healthcare and hospice industry, she worked in the fields of aging services, education, and congregational management.
Mostkoff is active in many professional and community organizations. She was appointed by former Governor Chet Culver to the Regional Workforce Investment Board (region 11) and serves as the chair of the planning and operations committee. She was appointed by Governor Terry Branstad to Iowa’s Mortuary Science board. Norene is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Vistage, and the Des Moines Rotary.
Mostkoff has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin—Madison.
She lives in Waukee, Iowa with her husband Sam and their dog Milo.
