VNAA Announces New State Association Membership Category

Today the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) announced state home care and hospice associations are now eligible to join VNAA as members. As the voice of nonprofit home health, hospice and community health service providers, allowing state associations to join in the exchange of information about the current and future practice of quality, cost-effective nonprofit home health care and hospice services will be a valuable addition to its mission.

Patient Access to Home Health Undermined by CMS Cuts

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will slash funding and reduce services for vulnerable patients to access the Medicare home health benefit, despite substantive arguments from VNAA and other home health industry organizations, patient advocacy groups, providers and a bi-partisan group of over 193 members of Congress. Fifty-one senators and 142 representatives signed on to two letters to CMS raising serious concerns about the home health benefit and its proposed implementation of the rebasing provision.

Visiting Nurse Associations of America Releases Case Study Compendium

Today the Visiting Nurses Association of America (VNAA) released the VNAA Case Study Compendium: Innovative Models for the Evolving Home Health and Hospice Industry, a collection of innovative programs from across its membership of nonprofit home health and hospice providers. This compendium consists of ten VNAA member case studies highlighting successful methods and techniques nonprofits conducted in order to adapt to a new healthcare landscape.

Proposed Medicare Rule for Home Health Will Jeopardize Access to Care

In comments submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on Aug. 26, the Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) strongly opposed a proposed rebasing plan that would cut the Medicare home health benefit by 14 percent from 2014 to 2017, with a 3.5 percent cut each year.

VNAA Names 2013 Congressional Champions

The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) today announced its 2013 Congressional Champions. VNAA annually honors congressional leaders who champion issues in support of nonprofit home health and hospice providers, and will present the awards during the Public Policy Leadership Conference (PPLC) in Washington, DC on Sept. 18 and 19, 2013.
