The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) is pleased to present the latest edition of the award-winning Clinical Procedure Manual (CPM).
Initially developed by the Coalition of Nurse Association/Services of Southern California in 1986 and titled the Nursing Procedure Manual, this, the 20th edition, reflects a 30 year legacy of excellence and application of evidence in home based care. During this time, the Clinical Procedure Manual has been adopted as the standard of care by home care agencies, state health departments, hospice and palliative care providers, adult day care and inpatient facilities in all 50 states and 5 countries.
The Clinical Procedure Manual is a staple of home-based care agencies committed to ensuring high quality care for each patient at each visit. As the backbone of clinical practice, it is imperative that clinical procedures be performed in a consistent, reliable way by each clinician each time. The expansion of the 20th edition to a searchable web-platform ensures access to these standards every place a patient needs care.
The CPM is reviewed on an on-going basis to ensure its content meets current professional guidelines and best practices while supporting its purpose; to enable providers to deliver the best care possible to patients. In this revision, contributing editors represent a diverse interdisciplinary group of professionals. This streamlined edition is based on updated professional guidelines, integrates recommended tools directly into procedures and places a new emphasis on patient/family education needs and documentation.
