Congress, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Congress are currently exploring reforms to the Medicare hospice payment methodology. Nonprofits have a unique mission-driven perspective to offer that focuses on quality and access for vulnerable patients.

To help guide the hospice payment refinement process from a nonprofit perspective, VNAA has worked with its members to develop recommendations that protect the integrity of the benefit, addresses access and quality for vulnerable patients and recognizes the important role of nonprofit hospices.
