In the 2015 Home Health Prospective Payment System final rule, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) gave notice of intent to launch a home health value-based purchasing (VBP) program in calendar year 2016. VNAA supports development of a home health VBP program to drive quality improvement and demonstrate the value our members bring to beneficiaries and the Medicare program. VNAA is launching a multi-stakeholder coalition to develop recommendations on the VBP program design, which we will submit to CMS. This call is for all members to learn more about the initiative. Subsequent to that call, the VNAA will solicit approximately 8-10 VNAA members to serve on the Coalition. We particularly encourage participation by state association members and individuals representing Affiliate member agencies who have value-based payment model experience (e.g., bundled payments, shared savings).
During this one hour call, VNAA staff will review CMS' current thinking with respect to the HH VBP and discuss the scope of the work of the Coalition.
